Raabe, Frederik John (23 April 1853-9 September 1947)

LOYAL-- Frederik J Raabe, 94, a resident of Loyal since 1901, died of old age complications Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Gust Haslow, Town of Sherman, where he had been making his home.

Funeral rites will be held Thursday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran Church, the Rev. J. C. Langholz officiating. The body will lie in state at the Lulloff Funeral Home until time of services.

Frederic John Raabe, son of the late Frederick Christian Raabe, was born in Germany April 23, 1853, and was married March 26, 1883, at Reeseville to Marie Jahlas, who died September 29, 1926.

Mr. Raabe, who farmed most of his life, went to Reeseville, Dodge County in 1882 and came to Loyal 46 years ago.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Gust (Martha) Wehling, Marshfield; Mrs. Clarence (Ida) Bluemke, Horicon; and Mrs. Gust (Anna) Haslow, Town of Sherman; two brothers, Henry, Doylestown, and Carl, Watertown; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, A son died in infancy and two sisters and a brother also preceded him in death.

***Note: Original obit says Frederic but tombstone says Frederik.
