John J. Kowalczyk of Des Plaines, Illinois and Susan P. Michur, North Chicago,
Illinois were united in marriage at Holy Family Church, North Chicago, Illinois
on Saturday, November 11, 1972 at four p.m. Reverend Frank L. Smid officiated at
the ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Michur, North Chicago, Illinois
and Mr. and Mrs. Gus Kowalczyk, Gilman.
The bride wore a gown of white bridal peau with Venice lace and ribbon
insertions. It had a reduced empire waistline, square neckline and full sleeves,
and skirt. She wore a gold heart locket, which was worn by her mother on her
wedding day. A pearl flower and lace profile headpiece held her bouffant veil of
illusion.
Miss Jane Michur was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Sally Kowalczyk, Sharon
Sromek, Mrs. Kenneth Knapp and Mrs. Dennis Howard. They wore gowns of ruby
velvet with white lace on bodice and cuffs.
Jeffrey Kowalczyk was best man, with John Michur, Tom Piekarz, Michael
Kornesczuk, and Ronald Grabowski as groomsmen. Ushers were Rick Michur and
Laurence Saverman.
A reception was held at the J.M. Club in Waukegan, Illinois.
Their wedding trip was to the Hawaiian Islands.
