Voigt, James L. (12 September 1931-13 December 2016)

James L. "Jim" Voigt, age 85, of Marshfield, passed away while surrounded by his family during the early morning hours on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.

His memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church in Marshfield. Pastor Gisele Berninghaus will officiate. Burial will take place privately at a later date.

James L. Voigt was born in Marshfield on September 12 , 1931 the son of Gustave and Elizabeth (Lucht) Voigt. He attended grade school at Taft County School and graduated from Loyal High School. Jim was united in marriage to Kathryn Bartz on December 5, 1953 in Granton. To this union four daughters were born. Jim was a Master Plumber for many years, retiring in February of 1995. Jim was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Marshfield. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, woodworking, playing cards and watching the Packers and Brewers.

Jim survived by his wife of 63 years, Kathryn; his four daughters: Cynthia (Edward) Jakubiec of Lehigh Acres, Florida,Laurie (Jeffrey) Langfeldt of Plymouth, Minnesota, Jean (Mike) Voigt-Zenner of Wausau and JoAnn (Mark) McNeely of Prairie Du Sac. He is further survived by his five grandchildren: Keith VanDenzen, Alex langfeldt, Kelly McNeely and Joe McNeely; two step-grandchildren: Eric Zenner and Angela Ford and seven great-grandchildren along with other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Gustave and Elizabeth Voigt; his brother Alan Voigt; his sister Sophie Klemme and his granddaughter Erin McNeely.

Arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral home-Spencer.
