Gluch, Olgiene L.(24 October 1886 – 8 April 1976)

Funeral services were held Monday, from Zion American Lutheran Church, Granton, for a Pine Valley native, Mrs. Daniel (Olgiene E.) Gluch, 89, of Neillsville, who died April 8 following a lingering illness. The Rev. Stephen Engelstad officiated, and burial followed in the church cemetery. The Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Gluch, the daughter of August and Louise Hemp Wegner, was born October 24, 1886, in the Town of Pine Valley and was educated in local schools. After completing her education, she worked in the Neillsville area.

Her marriage to Daniel Gluch took place September 6, 1904, in Neillsville. The couple farmed in the Town of Grant until his death in 1952. Then, Mrs. Gluch moved to Neillsville where she spent the remainder of her life. She was a member of Zion American Lutheran Church and of its Ladies Aid Society.

Survivors include one son, Ronald Gluch of Neillsville; one sister, Mrs. Fred (Elsie) Stelloh of Neillsville; one brother, Arthur Wegner of Rt.3 Neillsville; and five grandchildren,16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Leona) Sternitzky and Evelyn Gluch; and by a sister, Mrs. William (Aleda) Adams.

Pallbearers were Erwin Foemmel, Wayne Wegner, Wilbert Adams, Glen Haines, Edward Garbisch and Herb Schnabel.

Martin Hillert sang “How Great Thou Art” and “The Old Rugged Cross.” Nancy Garbisch was the accompanist.
