Smith, Kathleen (Marriage – 10 April 1976)

Gowned in cream polyester and carrying a single, long stemmed red rose, Miss Kathleen Smith became the bride of Michael Warns in a 2 p.m. ceremony performed April 10 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, by the Rev. Richard Fliss. The Medo-Farms restaurant, Abbotsford, was the scene later of an evening reception and dinner.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred A. Smith, Rt. 1 Owen. She was presented in marriage by her father. Mr, and Mrs. John Warns, Rt.1 Withee, are the groom’s parents.

Laurie Novak and Jeff Rabe, both of Eau Claire, were the couple’s attendants. Miss Novak’s gown of blue polyester was accented by a single, long stemmed peach rose.

Mrs. Karen Pearson sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and “The Wedding Song.” Mrs. Rowene Mahoney was the organist.

The newlyweds are both 1974 graduates of Owen-Withee High School and will graduate May 21 from District One Technical Institute, Eau Claire. She has been studying medical record technology and he, industrial electronics technology. The groom is also employed at a retail food market in Owen.

They are making their home in the Owen-Withee area.
