Dennis H. “Denny” Bolf, age 71, age 71, of Greenwood, died at Marshfield Medical Center on Sunday, May 3, 2020. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Immanuel United Church of Christ Cemetery, rural Greenwood. Military rites will be conducted by the Greenwood American Legion Post #238.

Dennis Harold Bolf was born on May 7, 1948 at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley, to Michael and Meta L. (Franz) Bolf. He was raised on the family farm, attended area schools, and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1966. After completing his education, Denny worked at a lumberyard in Dorchester, and later at Stewart's Redville Dairy in Greenwood.

He was inducted into the U.S. Army on October 8, 1968 and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge on July 6, 1970.

Denny was united in marriage to Theresa M. Sloniker on April 21, 1971 in Neillsville. She tragically died in May 1976 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He worked at Nelson Muffler in Neillsville, and later at WeatherShield in Greenwood, until his retirement.

His hobbies included hunting, fishing, listening to 1960's music, and playing the lottery crosswords. But most of all, he loved spending time with his daughter and two grandchildren.

Denny is survived by his daughter: Heather (Chris) Gates of Thorp; and two grandchildren: Daniel and Rachel Boehlke of Thorp; one brother: Roger Bolf of Greenwood; one sister: Linda (Dennis) Walker of Neillsville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Theresa.
