Ziegler, Augusta (93rd – 1 July 1976)

Mrs, Augusta Ziegler of Neillsville was the guest of honor Saturday at a party in observance of her 93rd birthday on Sunday, August 31.

Fifty-five well-wishers gathered for the occasion at the home of Mrs. Ziegler’s son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Ziegler, in Neillsville. Other children present were Mr. and Mrs. Fred (Arnita) Hoffmann of Ladysmith and Mr. and Mrs. Fred (Alvina) Babbe of Crosby, Mn., Lil Hoffmann of Ladysmith and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ziegler of Milwaukee. Another son, Harold, of Benson, Mn., called on his mother earlier last week.

Among the many congratulatory cards and letters, she received were greetings from President Gerald Ford and from Governor Patrick Lucey.

Mrs. Ziegler has been a resident of the Neillsville Community since coming to the United States from Germany at the age of 12. She lives alone and does her own housework. Because her eyesight is failing, her meals are prepared by her daughter-n-law, Frances, who lives about half a block away.
