Lewin, Martha M. (22 February 1911 - 23 August 1981)

SPENCER -- Mrs. Fred (Martha M.) Lewin Sr, 70, of Route 2, died Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Services will be Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church, Chili. The Rev. Horst W. Augustin will officiate and burial will be in Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church. Friends may call at Hansen Funeral Home, Marshfield.

Martha Woodruff was born February 22, 1911 in the town of Sherman to Mr. and Mrs. Jessie (Mary Fisher) Woodruff. She attended town of Sherman Schools. She was married to Fred W. Lewin October 22, 1938 in Milwaukee. After their marriage, they lived in Milwaukee until 1955 when they moved to Route 2, Spencer, where they have since resided.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid.

Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Keith (Kathleen) Rawson Jr. of Omaha, Nebraska, Mrs. Francis (Juanita) Herr Jr. of Greenwood, Mrs. Ferris (Mary) Watson of Garland, Texas, and Mrs. Richard (Patricia) Bird of Chili; one son, Fred Lewin Jr. of Marshfield; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. George (Adeline) Mittlesteadt of Wautoma and Mrs. Harvey (Ruth) Thomas of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; and a brother, John Woodruff of Princeton, Wisconsin.

Pallbearers will be Howard Schultz, Jon Fisher, Harold Montag, Ed Staab, Ernest Bird and Earl Burkhalder.
