Leo V. Bauer, 88, Abbotsford, died Tuesday at the Marshfield hospital.

Mr. Bauer farmed in the town of Mayville from 1922 until his retirement in 1971. He served as Mayville town of clerk for several years.

He was born September 24, 1893 in Logansport, Indiana, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bauer. He married Helen Fruch on February 14, 1917 in Watkins, Minnesota. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Leonard, Abbotsford; three daughters, Mrs. Wilmer (Marie) Lofland, Largo, Florida, Mrs. Randall (Lorena) Sterzinger, Colby, and Mrs. Frank (Hilda) Gesualdo, Ottumwa, Iowa; a brother, John, Logansport; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Abbotsford. the Rev. Emil Hodnik will officiate and burial will be in Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Friends may call at Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford.
