College Notes (Graduates /Scholarships - 2020)

Nearly 1,700 University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh students graduated in May, when the 146 spring commencement ceremony was conducted in a first-ever virtual format. The new graduates – including more than 1,200 with bachelor’s degrees, 220 master’s degree candidates, nearly 200 with associate degrees and 43 with doctoral degrees – join more than 90,000 others as UW-Oshkosh alumni.

The following students from Loyal graduated. Lane Meyer graduated from the College of Business with a degree in accounting. Ryleigh Wilke graduated from the College of Business with a degree of Business with a degree in management, with a concentration in family business and entrepreneurship.

The UW-Eau Claire College of Nursing and Health Sciences has awarded academic scholarships for the 2020-2021 school year to 82 undergraduate and graduate nursing students, including two local students.

“Solid academic records and strong commitment to various areas of nursing service were the criteria for many of the scholarships,” Jean Piper of the university wrote in a press release.

From Greenwood, Kelsey Halopka received the Elizabeth Barnes and Robert Fugate Memorial Scholarship. Halopka graduated from Colby High School.

From Neillsville, Rita Donahue received the Robert and Judith Mickelson Nursing Scholarship. She is a Neillsville High School graduate.
