Hanson, Arthur L. (27 July 1894 - 19 January 1982)

OWEN - Services for Arthur L. Hanson, 87, Owen, will be Friday at the Maurina Funeral Home in Owen. Mr. Hanson died Tuesday at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen,

Officiating will be the Rev. Margaret Shepherd of the First United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee, where military rites will be conducted.

Mr. Hanson was born July 27, 1894 at Waterford to Mr. and Mrs. Hans C. (Anna Boie) Hanson and came to Owen in 1913. He married the former Florence Nichols September 10, 1920 at Owen. She survives.

He worked for the John F. Owens Lumber Co. and later farmed in the town of Maplehurst and then in the town of Hixton. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of VanHuizen-Fritz American Legion Post of Owen.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Joyce) Chmielewski, Mequon; three sons, LeRoy, Curtiss, Floyd, Withee, and Kenneth, Owen; a half-sister, Mrs. Alfred (Lucille) Jackson, Venice, Florida; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents.
