Pomputis, George (21 January 1922 - 22 January 1982)

WITHEE - George Pomputis, 60, of Withee died of an apparent heart attack Friday at his home.

Services will be Tuesday at Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, with the Rev. Douglas R. Groeneweold, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Mr. Pomputis was born January 21, 1922 in the town of Longwood. He and Darlene Litten were married August 6, 1945 at Neillsville.

He had worked in Chicago until 1962, doing carpentry work for Clearing Machine Corp. He moved to Withee and later to a farm in the town of Hixon.

The veteran of World War II is survived by his wife; three sons, Roger, Kim and Kevin, all of Withee; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Georgia) Hester of Lake Alfred, Florida; two brothers, Anton of Withee and Adolph of Willard; three sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Julia) Twait of Owen, Mrs. Ed (Mary) Reinhart of Chicago and Mrs. Lucille Jantis, Chicago; and three grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two brothers and a sister.
