Dr. W. O. Wieseke, D.D.S., received his degree from Marquette University in 1951 and moved to Loyal where he purchased the dental practice of Dr. G. W. Nelson in May of 1966.

After graduating from high school in Watertown, Wisconsin, in 1943, he enlisted in the Army and was a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division. He served during the invasion of Leyte and Luzon, the occupation of Okinawa, and Japan which marked the end of the global conflict and brought to a close 33 months of service and combat for the doctor.

A short time later he entered Marquette University and upon completion of his studies there he accepted an assignment with the Army Dental Corp. for two years. He was stationed first at Ft. Hood, Texas, and later transferred to Sandia Base in New Mexico. His practice at these bases was limited to r personnel and their dependents.

At the end of the Army assignment he established a private practice at Cuba City, Wisconsin, in 1953., It was in Cuba City that .he met Miss Ruth Anne Guffrey and it way there that their marriage took place in 1956. The Wiesekes lived at Cuba City until 1959 when the doctor entered the Public Health Service and accepted an assignment at South Dakota.

Dr. Wieseke had offices in Wagner, South Dakota; Lewisburg, Pennsylvania; and Marion, Illinois. They have three children — Mark, Janet, and Brenda,

The Wieseke family enjoys traveling, preferring sight-seeing trips to camping trips. Dr. Wieseke likes to read, play golf and enjoys listening to his rather extensive collection of classical music albums in his leisure time.
