Gilles, James J. (26 June 1957 – 28 August 2020)

James J. Gilles, 63 of Stanley died Friday, August 28, 2020 at the Marshfield Medical Center-Eau Claire.

He was born on June 26, 1957 to the late George and Louise (Gindt) Gilles. Jim grew up in the Stanley area and graduated from Stanley-Boyd High in 1975. He worked for a number of local Cheese producers, most recently for Marathon Cheese corp. He was a diehard Green Bay Packer fan and a true nature lover. Jim also enjoyed researching his family genealogy.

He is survived by his brothers, George (Mary Lou) Gilles of Grand Chute, and Bruce (Mary Jane) Gilles of Gresham, Oregon, his sisters, Mary Ann Gilles of Wausau and Carol Meyer of Stanley and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, his step mother, Doris and his brother Kenneth.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020 at Holy Family Catholic Church-Stanley with Father William Felix officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery-Stanley. Visitation will be from 6-7 P.M. on Tuesday at the Plombon Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home. On Tuesday, a Rosary will be said by the Legion of Mary at 7 P.M..
