Scott, Daniel E. (10 July 1871 – 31 May 1953)

Daniel E. Scott of Stanley passed away Sunday, May 31, 1953 at the Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley after a lingering illness.

Mr. Scott was born July 10, 1871, the son of Isaac and Katherine Scott. He was united in marriage on October 1, 1902, to Lenora Abrams. They resided in Edson until 12 years ago at which time Mr. Scott retired. At this time, they moved to Stanley where they since have resided. Mr. Scott was a member of the Church of Christ.

Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Gims of Sacramento, Calif., eight sons, Leonard,
Glen and Fern of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Chester of Coos Bay, Oregon, Merton of Woodland, Calif., Floyd of Medford, Oregon, Ransom of Augusta, and Steven of Pocatello, Idaho. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Mamie Hayes, Stanley, two brothers, Walter of Boyd, and Fred of Park Falls.

The remains will lie in state at the Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley from Tuesday noon June 2, 1953 until Wednesday noon. Funeral services will be held tentatively at two o’clock Wednesday afternoon June 3, 1953, at the Methodist Church in Stanley with Rev. Leland Shaw officiating. Interment will be at the Edson Union Cemetery.
