Photographer A. M. Krause thought he would a hunting go Saturday toward evening, and with shot gun and his bicycle, with which he was using an attachment for riding on the railroad track, he set out west, down the Foster track. Near Morris Anderson’s he was stopping the wheel to get over a frog at the switch, when he dropped the gun in such a manner as to discharge it, the load striking the inside of his left foot so that the big toe bone and back to the heel was badly shattered. With good presence of mind he got his shoe off, took out the lace and corded his ankle to stop the flow of blood, then meanwhile calling for help, which came in due time. A hand car was soon run up from the gravel pit and the patient brought up to the doctor’s office, where the wounded foot was cared for. The wounded member is doing nicely and will probably heal up with only the loss of a small bone.
