Apfel, Legare J. (24 May 1895 - 12 January 1983)

NEILLSVILLE - Graveside services for Legare J. Apfel, 87, of Neillsville Memorial Home, who died Wednesday will be Saturday at the Neillsville Cemetery. He had been a resident of the home the past several months.

The Rev. Howard Ott of United Methodist Church, will officiate. Visitation will be at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville.

He was born May 24, 1895, in the Town of Hewett, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. (Esther Wright) Apfel. He received his education in the Columbia area. Town of Hewett.

He and Josephine Rouse were married in February 1919 in Clark County; she died January 5, 1957. He farmed most of his life in the Town of Levis and also was employed for several years by the Clark County Highway Department.

Surviving are a son, John Apfel of Neillsville; one grandson; and one great-grandchild.
