Fennessy, Mable A. (13 July 1906 – 12 October 1976)

Funeral services are to be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church for Mrs. Mabel A. Fennessy, 70, of Rt. 1 Neillsville, who died Tuesday, October 12, in Neillsville following a brief illness. The Rev. Joseph Henseler will officiate, and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

The rosary will be recited this (Thursday) evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home, where the body of Mrs. Fennessy will be in state from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m.

Mrs. Fennessy, daughter of William E. and Julia A. Lester Mather, was born July 13, 1906, in Hadley, Ma., and was educated in Massachusetts schools. She graduated from Roosevelt Hospital School of Nursing in New York City in 1929 and worked as a registered nurse at Roosevelt Hospital and at Orange, Memorial Hospital in Orange, N. J. After retiring, she lived in New Jersey until moving to the Neillsville area a year ago.

Her marriage to James M. Fennessy took place February 5, 1930, in New York City. He died in 1975. Mrs. Fennessy was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Surviving are two children, James M. Fennessy of Neillsville and Mrs. Norman (Pat) Landsberg of Berkeley, Ca.; two sisters, Hrs. Hazel Burke of Enfield, Ct., and Mrs. James (Josephine) Galuska of Stafford, Va.; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held October 15 from St. Mary’s Catholic Church for Mrs. Mabel A. Fennessy, 70, of Rt. 1 Neillsville, who died October 12 in Neillsville. The Rev. Joseph Henseler officiated, and burial followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Wendell Elmhorst, Scott Elmhorst, Frank Cina, Leonard Drescher, Harold Drescher, and Stuart Zimmerman.

The choir of St. Mary’s sang, accompanied by Mrs. Glenn Short.
