Ammentorp, Caroline (3 November 1892 - 23 February 1983)

WITHEE -- Services will be Saturday at Nazareth Lutheran Church for Mrs. Evald (Caroline) Ammentorp, 90, Withee, who died Wednesday at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley.

The Rev. Peter Thomsen will officiate and burial will be in Nazareth Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitations will be today at Maurina Funeral Home, Owen.

Mrs. Ammentorp, the former Caroline Damgaard, was born November 3, 1892, in Lindsay, Nebraska, to Mr. and Mrs. Peter (Hannah Jorgensen) Damgaard. She and Evald Ammentorp were married May 14, 1920 in Lindsay.

She graduated in 1912 from Grand View College, Des Moines, Iowa, and taught school at Luck before locating in Withee in 1920.

A member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee, and its Ladies Aid Society, Mrs. Ammentorp also affiliated with the Gray Ladies and the Withee Homemakers Club.

Surviving are four sons, Roy of Withee, Raymond of West Covina, California, James of Freeport, Illinois, and Marvin of Dayton, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Rodger (Ruth) Wolfram of Eau Claire, Mrs. Henry (Marian) Haas of Thorp and Mrs. Henry (Amy) Mauel, Owen; two brothers, Godtfred Damgaard of Lake City, South Dakota, and William Damgaard, Lindsay, Nebraska; a sister, Mrs. Emma Clausen, Genoa, Nebraska; 35 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband March 6, 1961, by a brother and two sisters.
