Spann, August W. (21 SEP 1884 – 14 DEC 1972)

Colby – The Rev. Kenneth Dix will officiate at services in the First United Church of Christ here at 1:30 p.m. Monday for August W. Spann, 88, of Colby, who died at his home Thursday. Burial will be made in Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Spann was born in the town of Colby September 21, 1884, and was married December 15, 1915 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in the town of Green Grove to Lena Plutte, who preceded him in death in 1959.

The couple farmed in the town of Colby until 1952, when they moved to the city.

Mr. Spann is survived by two daughters, Miss Viola Spann, and Mrs. Norman Slink, both of Marshfield; four grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Lena Krueger, of Colby.

Three sisters preceded him in death.
