Heidtke, Walter (10 February 1909 - 12 March 1983)

Word has been received of the death of Walter Heidtke, 74, a former Dorchester resident. He died March 12 at his winter home in Zapata, Texas, following a heart attack.

Services were at the Olson Funeral Home, Bloomer, Wisconsin. The Rev. N. Ralph Huget officiated.. Burial was in the Holcombe cemetery.

He was born February 10, 1909 in Chippewa Falls, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto (Frieda) Heidtke. He received his education in Dorchester and Cadott area schools. He resided in Cornell for a time and in 1966 married the former Jane Froelich in Cornell.

He served with the U.S. Air Force during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Surviving are his wife; seven step-children; a sister, Mrs. Clifford (Mildred) Ellingson of Stetsonville; and a brother, Werner Heidtke of Phoenix, Arizona. He was predeceased by his parents, one brother, two sisters and one step-sister.
