Mishawaka News - Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Peterson, who returned this week from a visit with relatives at Owen, Wisconsin, have a rare curiosity in the form of two pieces of a meteor that they saw fall when they were motoring near Colby, Wisconsin the evening of July 4. The molten mass, which they judged to weigh about 1,000 pounds, fell more than a mile from them, and by the time they had reached the point where it fell, it had cooled sufficiently to allow them to carry away small pieces, which are as hard as granite. One piece has a sprinkling though it of a sparkling substance that resembles ore. The souvenirs are at the Mishawaka office of the News-Times on exhibition.
