August Horner, a farmer near Owen, Wisconsin, indicted by the Grand Jury at La Crosse for violating the espionage act, was arrested and gave $5,000 bonds to appear for arraignment, announced by the United States Marshal’s office at Madison.

He is alleged to have said, “To hell with the boys over there. They have no business over there. If they stayed here they wouldn’t need any sugar.”
