Neillsville-Sunburst Homes (Honorees - 1976)
Recently honored by Sunburst Youth Homes, Neillsville were two area educators,
Henry Lukes and Richard Quast. The November 10 banquet at an area supper club
saw Lukes and Quast recognized “for their high quality leadership shown and
their corporation with boys and girls of Sunburst in returning to the mainstream
of education.” As students progress in the home’s educational program, they are
reintroduced into public school with both men active in the integration.
Included in the group of 50 were (shown in a photo) Steve Hemmersbach, master of
ceremonies; Richard Quast, Donald Clemens, the director of treatment at the
home; and Henry Lukes.
