Granton H.S. (Top Students - 1977)
Three individuals were selected as top students in the 1977 graduating class at
Granton High School. Donna Anderson, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David
Anderson, was selected Valedictorian while Alan Scharf, the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Donald Scharf, and Janice Garbisch, daughter of Viola Garbisch and the late
Alfred Garbisch, were selected as Co-Salutatorians. With commencement held last
Thursday, 38 were given diplomas. Patricia Moede, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Gorden Moede and vice president of the class, spoke during the ceremonies.
Receiving awards were Donna Anderson for the Citizen State Bank scholarship,
Alan Scharf for the GEA scholarship and Gary Eibergen for the FFA Alumni
association scholarship. Following the ceremonies, the diplomas were presented
by David Anderson, member and past president of the school board. The Granton
High Band and a solo by Gary Eibergen, completed the commencement.
