Emery Bruley
Clothier and Gents’ Furnisher
Neillsville, Wis.

Has one of the principle exclusive gent’s furnishing stores in the city, located in his own building on Hewett Street, next door to post office, where his salesroom extends back to s depth of 65 feet, with upper floor used for store room in read and offices in front. His salesroom is well stocked with all lines of men’s furnishings, such as hats, caps, neckwear, underwear, pants, overalls, shoes and ready-made clothing for men’s and youth’s wear, obtained from manufacturers in New York,, Chicago and Milwaukee, with prices of men’s suits from $6 up. Special orders are also taken for tailor-made suits, keeping sample books of the suitings on hand from one of the large house of Chicago, which turns out first-class work in that line, with prices from $10 up. The house carries a good stock in season of fur overcoats and rubber goods, also handles shoes in the leading makes as well as rubbers, overshoes, mitts, gloves, etc.

In addition to a good city trade he has a large trade from the surrounding country, covering a radius of 10 or 15 miles in nearly all directions. The business was established forty-two years ago by the proprietor, Mr. Emery burley, who is one of the pioneer business men and resident of the city and formerly had long experience in practical blacksmithing, carrying on that branch for fifteen years. He afterward re-engaged in the clothing business continuing for over ten years, after which he commenced the manufacture of hubs and spokes, staves and lumber, carrying on the same for fourteen years when he sold out his interest, owing to the lack of white oak timber. About one year ago last March he re-established his present business, since which time his trade has been steadily increasing, having good prospects for the fall trade.
