Zion Lutheran Church, Granton, a member of the Northern Wisconsin District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, will be celebrating its Centennial on Sunday.

Organized May 14, 1883, Zion has a long History of Community service and involvement in Church affairs. The Centennial celebration will begin with the morning worship and continue with a noon dinner served by the Lutheran women's Missionary League and a special worship celebration at 2 p.m.

The Rev. Kevin L. Wenker, present pastor, will conduct the morning service and serve at liturgist in the afternoon. The Rev. Arthur A. Oswald, a former pastor, will preach at the afternoon celebration. The Adult and Children's choirs will enhance the worship with special music.

Theme of the Centennial observance is "100 Years of Grace." The congregation of Zion invites the area community to join in thanking God for the grace and blessings bestowed on the congregation the past century, and to intercede for continual blessings.

Zion's Centennial observance will continue throughout the summer.

Former pastors and sons of the congregation entering the pastoral ministry will return to participate in the services and preach.

The Rev. Everett Schleef will preach July 3 with the Rev. Norman Hanneman as liturgist. The Rev. Clarence Panier will conduct the service July 17. On July 24 the Rev. Dale H. Trimberger will preach and lead worship. The Rev. Roland Roehrs will preach August 21, and the Revs. Gary, Melvin and Richard Thur will be liturgists.

Finally, on October 30, Reformation Sunday, the Rev. Henry Simon, president of the North Wisconsin District, will preach and the Rev. Horst A. Augustin will be liturgist.

On each of these Sundays, a noon dinner will be served by one of the congregation's organizations following the Centennial celebration. A Centennial book has been printed and will be available. Zion welcomes visitors to all its services.
