Ewert, John Arthur (5 February 1956 - 29 April 1983)

COLBY -- John Arthur Ewert, 27, Colby died in Athens, Greece April 29 of cancer.

Services will be Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby. The Rev. Raymond J Pedretti will officiate. Burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Rux Funeral Home, Colby.

He was born February 5, 1956 in Curtiss, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Myron Ewert. He received his education at St. Mary's Parochial School and Colby High School. He was a welder and painter in Milwaukee, after which he returned to Colby, working for Artcraft Homes of Spencer and for Utke Brothers of Curtiss.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

He married Valerie Wagner September 8, 1974 in Colby. She survives along with a daughter, Erica, at home; his parents of Colby; two brothers, William of Colby and Terry of Menomonie; two sisters, Diane Ewert of Stevens Point and Marie Ewert of Wausau; and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Michlig of Abbotsford.
