Votava, Renae Marie (18 June 1977)

Mr. and Mrs. James Davis, who were married June 18 at the York Center United Methodist Church are making their home at 201 Parkview Terrace in Marshfield. The Rev. Charles B. Sanford officiated at the 8 p.m. ceremony for the former Miss Renae Marie Votava, daughter of Vivian and Devonne Votava of Rt. 3 Neillsville, and the son of Shirley Davis of Rt. 1 Granton. A reception followed at the York Town Hall.

The bride wore a floor length gown of white Chantilly and Venise lace complimented by a wide-brimmed hat with veil as she was presented in marriage by her father. She carried red roses surrounded by baby’s breath and streamers.

Maid of Honor Jenice Votava, sister of the bride, appeared in a yellow-flowered, floor length gown and carried a bouquet of yellow roses with baby’s breath and streamers.

Craig Votava, brother of the bride, served as the bestman.

Irene Rowe played the wedding march, and a special song was sung by Mary Chase to a guitar accompaniment.

The bride was honored at two pre-nuptial showers, one on June 14, given by her sister, Jenice, at their family home, and another on June 15, given by Angie Gregory, Gwen Pigott and Donna Chase of Granton at the York Town Hall.

The new Mrs. Davis graduated from Neillsville High School in 1976 and formerly employed at a Marshfield retail store. Her husband a 1977 graduate of Granton High School, is employed as a mechanic by a Marshfield firm. A wedding trip is planned for a later date.
