Linda LuAnn Fredrick, a junior at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, was initiated recently to the nation honor society of Phi Kappa Phi. The primary objective of Phi Kappa Phi is the recognition and encouragement of superior scholarship in all fields of study. The society was founded in 1897, and the Eau Claire chapter was established in April 1969. Approximately 125 juniors and seniors and several graduate students and faculty members are initiated each year. Faculty members chosen to become members of Phi Kappa Phi this year were Dr. Willis R. Gertner, associate professor of philosophy and religious studies, and James M. Guilerud, assistant professor of English and foreign languages.

Parents of the new Phi Kappa Phi initiate, Linda Fredrick, are Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Fredrick of Owen.
