Rakovec, Terri Ann (13 August 1977)

Miss Terri Ann Rakovec and Jerome William Nikolai were united in marriage at 1:30 p.m., August 13, at the Loyal United Methodist Church. The Rev. Charles Sanford performed the ceremony. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Rakovec, Rt. 2 Loyal, was given in marriage by her father. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Nikolai, Rt. 1 Unity. Mrs. Ruth Zepplin provided organ music and accompanied Mrs. Connie Meyer, soloist. Both are from Loyal.

For her wedding, the bride wore a gown of silk organza with applique of Venise lace over satin, the flounce of her skirt ending in a chapel train. A Camelot headpiece held her veil of illusion. Yellow roses and white chrysanthemums among baby’s breath comprised her bouquet.

Mrs. Karen Harouff, sister of the bride, came from Stamford, Nb., to be the matron of honor. She wore a mint green gown with a cape in floral print. Her picture hat had matching streamers. Wearing gowns of identical design to the dress of the matron of honor, Mrs. Thomas Niedzwiecki, Wausau, and the Misses Kathleen Randt and Barbara Zvolena, both of Loyal, wore peach, blue and yellow. They carried matching nosegays.

Serving as bestman was James Pachal, Racine. Groomsmen were Niedzwiecki, Wausau, Bruce Trampbush, Loyal, and Norman Harouff, Stamford, Nb. Glen Hardrath and Lyle Kasper, both of Unity, seated the guests. Bobby Rakovec greeted the guests.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the American Legion Hall in Loyal. At a late afternoon dinner, 250 guests were seated; dancing followed in the evening.

The new Mrs. Nikolai graduated with the class of 1977 from Loyal High School. Her husband graduated from the same school in 1974. After a short honeymoon at an undisclosed location, the newlyweds will live on Rt. 1 Unity, where he is engaged in farming.
