Steager, Peter W. (10 May 1900 – 8 Aug 1976)

Peter William Steager, 76, Route 2, Withee, died at 2:50 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, where he had been admitted earlier in the day. Death was attributed to an apparent heart attack.

Services were held at 1:30 Wednesday at the Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home in Owen, with the Rev. Lloyd Yaggie, pastor of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee, officiating. Burial was made in the Withee Riverside Cemetery.

Mr. Steager was born May 10, 1900 at Glenwood City. He married the former Pauline Robertson on June 6, 1928, at Withee. He attended the Owen schools and farmed in the Town of Hixon. He also worked from 1916-1918 at the Owen Box Factory.

His wife died March 12, 1969.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Dale (Evelyn) Kam, Ketchikan, Alaska; two sons, Arthur, Owen and Lyle, Withee, and two grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother.
