Schofield, Sandra C. (21 Nov 1945 – 4 May 2021)

Sandra C. Schofield, 75, Greenwood, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family members. Per her request, there will be no services. A private burial of her cremains will take place at the Old St. Hedwig’s Cemetery in Thorp at a later date.

Sandra Carol Hendricks was born on Nov. 21, 1945, to Anton F. “Tony” and Ann M. (nee Abramczuk) Hendricks. She was raised in rural Thorp and graduated from Thorp High School in 1963. Following graduation, she moved to Minneapolis, Minn., and worked at Reliance Insurance Co. She married Clifford D. Schofield on Sept. 5, 1964, in Minneapolis, and later returned to the Thorp area. They moved to their present home in Greenwood in 1968. She worked for ITT Life Insurance Co. in Thorp for a few years and later worked at the Greenwood Pharmacy until its closing in 1999. She then worked at the Marshfield Clinic Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician until retiring in 2007, due to a muscle disease, polymyositis, which she battled for many years. She had many interests, especially spending time with her family, children, grandchildren and friends.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Clifford Schofield; her children: Debra Schofield of Loyal, Tammy (Mike) Mireles of Lake in the Hills, Ill., and Scott Schofield of Marengo, Ill.; three grandchildren: Trista (Adam) Jung, Max Mireles, and Freyja Stangenes; one great-grandson: Kaden Lewis; her siblings: Brian (Joan) Hendricks of Owen, Peggy (Ron) Benzschawel of West Dundee, Ill., Bonnie (Ray) Hollinger of York, Pa., and Mark Hendricks of Rockford, Ill.; a brother in-law: Len (Sally) Etta of Granton; nieces and nephew: Kimberly (Patrick) Easterday of La Grange, Ill., Kristine (David) Engel of Ogden Dunes, Ind., Steven Benzschawel of Aurora, Ill., and Rebecca Hollinger of York, Pa.; and great-nieces and great-nephew: Ryan Easterday, Kaitlyn Easterday, and Emmanuelle Engel.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; her infant sister, Karen Hendricks; her brother, Roger Hendricks; her nephew, Jason Hendricks; her sister-in-law, Arlene (Frank) Thomas; her brothers-in-law, Arnold (Angie) Etta and Irvin Etta; and many cousins.
