Carstensen, Harry (14 December 1894 – 22 December 1977)
A Shortville citizen, Harry Carstensen, 83, died in his Town of Washburn home,
December 22, with funeral service to be held Wednesday, December 28, from the
Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Born in Medford, Carstensen moved to
Shortville area as a young boy with his parents, Detlaff and Mamie (Wehrmann)
Carstensen. He gained his education there and farmed near the community all his
life, passing away suddenly at his home.
Born on December 14, 1894, Carstensen is survived by a sister, Mrs. Elvera
Dimler, McHenry, Il., and by several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death
were his parents and three brothers, Fred, Bill and Herbert.
Services are set for 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, and with the Rev. Ronald Nordin
officiating, and burial to be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Carstensen, Harry (14 December 1894 – 22 December 1977)
Funeral services were held December 28 for Harry Carstensen, 83, from the
Georgas Funeral Home in Neillsville. The Rev. Ronald Nordin of Calvary Lutheran
Church, Neillsville, officiated at the 1:30 p.m. services. Music was offered by
Kendall Smith, singing “Just As I Am” and “Abide With Me,” accompanied by Elaine
Smith. Pallbearers included Allen Crocket, Earl Pretsch, Jim Ehlers, John Wyle,
Robert Mortensen and Ernest Kuth.
Attending from out of town were Mrs. Elvera Dimler and Dorothy, McHenry, Il.;
Gerald Dimler, Fremont; Edward Dimler, Babcock; Mr./Mrs. Stanton Erdmann, Fort
Wayne, In.; Mr./Mrs. George Carstensen, Diane Beilke, Mrs. Ralph Jansen and
Mr./Mrs. Norman Beilke, all of Granton.
