Sebold, Joseph F. (19 Mar 1898 – 18 Feb 1972)

Joseph F. Sebold, a long time area businessman, died Friday at his home at the age of 74. The Funeral Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Hodnik on Monday at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Abbotsford. Burial was in the Abbotsford Cemetery.

Mr. Sebold was born at Dorchester in 1898, and in 1921 he married the former Laura Baumer. He operated the Baumer Garage in Stetsonville from 1921 to 1926. In 1927 he operand the Sebold Garage in Dorchester, and operated there until 1955. In 1949 a new garage was built in Abbotsford.

Active in community affairs, Mr. Sebold was Clark County Supervisor for eight years, and in 1968 he was Village of Abbotsford Trustee. He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife Laura; three children, Mrs. Don (Joyce) Moberg, Marinette, Robert of Abbotsford and Francis of Dorchester; five sisters, Mrs. Guy (Ann Crane, Mrs. Glen (Tillie) Lincoln, Oshkosh, Mrs. Mary Behrens, Iron Mountain, Michigan, and Sister Amanda Theodine, La Crosse.

Pallbearers were Larry Moberg, Don Moberg, Dean Moberg, Jeff Sebold, Joseph Sebold and William Parion.
