COLBY - Two retiring Colby Public School teachers were honored recently at the
Teacher's association's annual recognition dinner.
Peg Fleege and Kathryn Goeltz received several items commemorating their
retirement. The Association and the National Honor Society presented them with
gold and silver jewelry and District Administrator Ed Haas presented plaques
from Herbert Grover, state superintendent of public instruction and the Colby
School Board.
Goeltz, a kindergarten teacher at Colby Lower Elementary School, has been
instructing in the school district for 22 years.
Fleege, a teacher at the Unity Upper Elementary School, has been teaching for 11
years in the district.
The following teacher were recognized for 20 years of service; Al Durocher,
Miriam Johnson and Carol Subera. Joe Boettcher was honored for 30 years of
service.
