Weirick, Wilbur (10 June 1915 – 8 June 1978) With Flag

Wilbur Weirick, 62, who had farmed in the Town of Washburn since 1957, passed away suddenly at his home, Thursday, June 8. He was born June 10, 1915, to Virgil and Anna (Wilcox) Weirick in Woolstock, Iowa., and received his education in both Iowa and Minnesota schools.

After school, he worked in various places until entering the military and serving in World War II. He then re-attended school, married Ada Williamson, November 24, 1948, in a Chicago ceremony and worked in Chicago until 1957 when he moved to Clark County and farmed in the Washburn area. He became semi-retired last year.

Surviving besides his wife are three sons, William of Hurley, Luther Garrett of McHenry, Ill., and Allen of Neillsville; one daughter, Mrs. Leon (Marrine) LaReaux of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. William (Rose) Merrill of Chicago, and Mrs. Lloyd (Esther) Dixon of Monti Claire, Calif.; two brothers, John of Brazil, S.A., and Raymond, Seattle, Wash.; and twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Preceding him in death was one son.

The 11:00 a.m. Monday services held from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, with the Rev. Gary Clark of the Neillsville United Church of Christ officiating and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Weirick, Wilbur (10 June 1915 - 8 June 1978)

The Rev. Gary Clark of the Neillsville United Church of Christ officiated at the June 12 funeral service for Wilbur Weirick, 62, who passed away four days earlier. Serving as pallbearers were Robert Mortenson, Adolph Mazourek, Edison Mathis, Dave Krutch, Earl Pretsch and George Gorbet. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery after the 11:00 a.m. services at the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home.

Those attending including Ray Weirick, Seattle, Wa.; Mrs. Lloyd Dixon, Montclair, Ca.; Mrs. William Morrill, Donald Morrill, & son Jason, Maurine LaRoux & daughter Lynn, and Mrs. Robert Lamb & daughter, of Chicago; Mr./Mrs. Luther R. Garrett and family, McHenry, Il.; Mr./Mrs. Bill Weirick and family, Montreal; Bernice Traver, Alice Traver, and Mr./Mrs. Leon Traver, of Truman, Mn.; Mr./Mrs. Alden Wilcox, Lakota, Ia.; and Mr./Mrs. Gilbert Voight, Westfield.
