Schnabel, Joan Carol (10 June 1978)

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Neillsville, served as the site for the 2:30 p.m., June 10, exchange of wedding vows for Joan Carol Schnabel and Mark Louis Gaier. Joan is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Schnabel Rt. 1, and Mark is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Gaier of Chippewa Falls.

With the Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiating, the bride was given away by her father. She was attired in a full-length white satin gown featuring a stan-up neckline, trimmed with silk Venice lace and a full A-line skirt with chapel train. A Camelot headpiece, trimmed with silk lace and pearls, held a fingertip veil that was edged with matching silk Venice lace. She carried yellow carnations, daisies, and baby’s beath.

Maid of honor was Mary Becker, joined by Brenda Lindow, both of Neillsville. They wore floor-length gowns of yellow and mint green polyester with pleated skirts and matching sheer cape. They also carried yellow carnations, daisies, and baby’s breath.

Serving as bestman was Bruce Martinau, Chippewa Falls, who was assisted by Dan Schnabel, Neillsville. Ushers were Scott Becker and Michael Falkner.

Music at the wedding was offered by Kathy Quast as a soloist, accompanied by Paul Tess. A reception and dance were held at the Wildcat Inn, Neillsville.

The bride is a 1975 graduate of Neillsville High School and attended District I Technical Institute in Eau Claire. She is presently employed as a secretary at Menard’s in Eau Claire. The groom is a graduate of Chippewa Falls High School and also attended District I Tech. He is employed as a computer operator at Mason Shoe Co., Chippewa Falls.
