Lien, Duane James (30 June 1955 – 16 June 1978) With Flag

Duane James Lien, 22, Eau Claire and formerly of Alma Center, died Friday, June 16, of injuries sustained when he was run over by a car in Eau Claire.

He was born in Neillsville, on June 30, 1955, to James and Dorothy Lien. He grew up in Alma Center and moved to Eau Claire with his parents where he graduated from North High School. He was a member of the Marine Corps for four years.

Survivors include his wife, the former Ann Devney, two sons, Patrick and Michael, both at home, his parents of Eau Claire, and three sisters, Mrs. Fred (Diane) Myher of Black River Falls, Mrs. Michael (Lois) Hayden and Mrs. Sheila Zamora, both of Eau Claire.

Services were held Monday afternoon in Hope Lutheran Church in Eau Claire with Rev. Obed C. Anderson officiating. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery, Alma Center, with military rites by the Alma Center Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. The Jensen Funeral Home at Hixton was in charge of the arrangements.
