Schorer, Jane (17 Jun 1972)

At a 1 p.m. ceremony on June 17, 1972, Miss Jane Schorer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Verland Schorer, and Roger Geiger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Geiger, were united in marriage at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby, with the Rev. Frank Rushman officiating. The church choir provided the music.

Maid of honor was Mrs. Gerald Geiger, and the bridesmaids were Mrs. Allen Baehr, Mrs. Jean Hanne, both sisters of the groom, and Mrs. Darnell Elpert, sister of the bride.

Best man was Gerald Geiger, brother of the bridegroom, and groomsmen were Allen Baehr, Darnell Elpert and James Kittl.

Junior bridesmaid was Miss Patricia Baehr, and ring bearer was Gerald Geiger Jr. Ushers were Roger Reise and Dennis Geiger.

The bride had a bouffant silhouette gown with mandarin neckline, bishop sleeves and mantilla of Chantilly lace with pearl trim and a long train. She carried a bouquet of red and white roses.

The maid of honor wore a yellow white dotted Swiss floor length dress with yellow net headpiece.

The bridesmaids wore blue and white dotted Swis floor length dresses with blue net headpieces.

The maid of honor has a bouquet of yellow and white roses. The bridesmaids had blue and white roses. The junior bride had a bouquet identical to the bride and her dress was similar to the bride’s.

The groom’s mother wore a blue and white shift and had a corsage of pink roses.

The wedding reception was held at the Unity Memorial Hall after the church services.

Supper was at 4:30 in the Catholic School gym for about 200 guests. A wedding dance was held in the evening at the Unity Memorial Hall.
