Gary G. Sterzinger, son of Mrs. Corsina Sterzinger of Route 1, Colby, is participating in a U.S. Air Force Reserve Officers Train Corps (AFROTC) field training encampment at Tyndall AFB, Florida.

During the encampment, cadets become familiar with the life and activities on Air Force bases and can examine careers in which they may wish to serve as officers.

Additional, they receive survival training, aircraft and aircrew indoctrination, small arms training, and visit other Air Force bases.

Cadet Sterzinger is a member of the AFROTC unit at the University of Wisconsin. He is a 1970 graduate of Colby High School.

Sterzinger is one of 47 athletes at the University of Wisconsin, Superior on this year’s Wisconsin State University Conference Scholastic Honor Roll.
