King, Gladys Cecilia (5 January 1927 – 27 July 2021)

Gladys Cecilia King, age 94, of Redgranite, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Berlin.

She was born January 5, 1927, in Neillsville, the daughter of George and Berniece Winton Kopp. Gladys worked at Kurt Marg Mink Ranch where she met Ned King. They were united in marriage on June 4, 1946, in MN. They moved to Milwaukee where she worked at Omer Powers Mink Ranch and then many years at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home where she retired from. She eventually moved to Redgranite and has lived there for the past 11 years with her daughter. Gladys loved her family and always was an active part of their lives. She enjoyed cooking and gardening.

She is survived by her children, Don King, Shirley Nehls, Sharon “Sherry” Falesnik, Karen Szydel and Dennis (Marge) King; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Arlene Runge.

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Ned, in 2007; two brothers, Raymond Kopp and Georgie Kopp; one sister, Ruby Wiegman; and three sons-in-law, Thomas Falesnik, Dennis Szydel and Dennis Jarentowski.

Graveside services with inurnment will be held on Wednesday, August 4, at 11:00 a.m., at Neillsville City Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin.
