Schleifer, Cathy (16 September 1978)

On the lawn of Calvary Lutheran Church, Saturday, September 16, at 3:30 p.m., wedding vows were exchanged between Cathy Schleifer and Duane Bieneck, both of Neillsville. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schleifer, 317 Sunset Place, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Paul Bieneck, Rt. 3.

With the Rev. David Wenger, Greenwood, officiating, the parents of the bride presented her to the pastor and her new husband. Brad Zimmerman offered vocal music, accompanied by Rita Stewart of the organ and Kim Makie on the guitar.

The bride chose an empire waist, floor-length gown of white Chantilly lace. Tiers of lace fell into a chapel length train, topped by a fingertip veil with a Camelot headpiece. She carried a silk bouquet of white carnations, blue, green, lavender, peach and yellow daisies and baby’s breath.

Serving as maid of honor was Rhonda Oestreich, Neillsville, a fiend of the bride. She was joined by Pam Myers, Arkansaw, a friend of the bride; Darlene Bieneck, La Crosse, sister of the groom; and by Christy and Cheryl Schleifer, both of Neillsville and sisters of the bride. They wore floor length gowns adorned by print capes of lavender, peach, green, yellow and blue. Each carried baskets of silk white daisies, baby’s breath, carnations and forget-me-nots, all matching the gowns.

Serving as bestman was Terry Zschernitz, Neillsville, a friend of the groom. He was joined by David Bieneck, Neillsville, brother of the groom; Jim Schleifer, La Crosse, brother of the bride; and Tim and Tom Bieneck, both of Neillsville and nephews of the groom. Ushering were Russel Schleifer, Melrose, uncle of the bride, and Roy Bieneck, brother of the groom from Neillsville.

After a reception at the Wildcat Inn, a dance was held at the Silver Some Ballroom.

The bride is a 1977 graduate of Neillsville High School and a 1978 graduate of the City College of Cosmetology, Eau Claire. She is presently employed as a cosmetologist at Milady’s Beauty Salon, Marshfield. The groom is a 1974 graduate of Neillsville High School and is employed by Bob Struensee in the concrete construction business. The couple will reside on Rt 3 Neillsville.
