Haack, Ferdinand (3 Nov 1881 – 23 Sep 1972)

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford for Ferdinand A. Haack, 90, Abbotsford, who died at 2 a.m. September 23, 1972 at the Marshfield Convalescent Center, where he had been a patient since June.

The Rev. Elmer Rasmussen, Marshfield officiated, with burial in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Eugene Strathman was organist, with Mrs. Dennis Kramer, soloist, singing “In the Garden.”

Pallbearers were Dennis Kramer, Donald Lewis, Daniel Lewis, Norman Haack, Theodore Haack, and George Haack.

Mr. Haack was born November 3, 1881 at Algoma. In August 1915 he married Tillie Diercks at Neillsville. She died February 16, 1924. He then married Grace Folsum Lewis at Withee on November 11, 1924.

He was a cheesemaker at Neillsville, Arpin, Thorp and Chelsea until 1931, when he began operating a farm east of Abbotsford. He retired in 1944 and moved into Abbotsford.

Survivors, besides his wife, include two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Vivian) Kramer, Abbotsford; Mrs. Hugo (Irene) Mueller, Algoma; a son, Ernest Haack, Algoma, and two step-sons, Warren Lewis, Abbotsford and Sumner Lewis, Milwaukee. Six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by 16 brothers and sisters.
