Seman, Joe (14 September 1899 – 1 October 1978)

A man who was a resident of Clark County for 40 years, Joe Seman, 79, passed away Sunday evening, October 1, in St. Agnes hospital, Fond du Lac. He succumbed to a heart attack after one week’s illness.

Deman was born on September 14, 1899, to John and Rose (Thiede) Seman in Neshkoro. He farmed in Clark County until 1952 when he moved to Fond du Lac and was employed there by Mercury Marine until retirement. He was a member of Sacred heart Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and the Order of St. Francis.

He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Theresa Murach of Atascadero, Calif., Mrs. Catherine Chandler of Fond du Lac and Helen Seman, also of Fond du Lac and his home at the time of his death. (Helen served as the Neven’s (Sherwood area) news correspondent for The Press for a number of years.)

Preceding him in death were three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 3, from the Bidlingmaier Funeral Home and Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery. The Rev. Raymond Fox officiated.
