NHS Forensic Students (Test Skills - 1979)

Eight of thirteen Neillsville High School forensic students advanced to regional competition after a sub-regional contest held in Colby this past Saturday.

Earning “A” ratings were Denise Chaltry, Joy Lonning and Carolyn Langreck in prose reading; Gina Haines, demonstration speaking; Carey Strangfeld and Brendan Jenks in poetry reading; Milda Nagy, storytelling; and Ellen Alsterberg, declamation.

The students will see their next competition on March 31 when they travel to Eau Claire. Winners there enter state competition.

Also competing in the Colby test were Judy Jordahl, Julia Ewing, Linda Doud, Jim Gungor and Rick Sprague.

Forensic coaches are John Schermitzler and Jim Worachek.
