Braun, Minnie (25 December 1899 – 17 March 1979)

Mrs. Hubert Braun, 79, formerly of the Greenwood area, died March 17 in a Seattle, Wa., nursing home. The former Minnie Himes was born December 25, 1899, in the Town of Beaver. She was married in 1920 to Hubert Braun; he died in November 1967.

She received her education in the Town of Beaver School and also attended Greenwood High School. She and her husband farmed in the Town of Eaton and later moved to Minnesota. For the past 15 years, she had been living in Seattle.

Surviving her are two sons, Robert of Seattle and Wayne of Renton, Wa.; three brothers, Lester Himes of Withee, Arthur Himes of Owen and Delbert Himes of Finland, Mn.; three sisters, Mrs. Steve Creg of Owen, Mrs. Alma Lang of Milwaukee and Mrs. Hazel Acker of Greenwood; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three great-grandchildren, two sons, two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 21, from the Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery. The Rev. David Logue, pastor of the Zion United Church of Christ, officiated. Mrs. Duane Olson, the soloist was accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Gary Schultz. Pallbearers were Curtis Garrett, Leonard Himes, Eugene Himes, Richard Acker, Donald Kocher, and Jerome Kolpanen.
