Kayser, Clara (28 September 1896 – 4 July 1979)

Clara Kayser, 82, of Eau Claire and formerly of Granton passed away on July 4, in Luther Hospital, Eau Claire. She suffered a stroke one week earlier.

The deceased was born on September 28, 1896, in Chicago to Andrew and Henrietta (Husser) Hofert. After her education, she married Ben Kayser on June 3, 1925, Oak Park, Ill., ceremonies. In 1983 they moved from the community to Granton.

Surviving Mrs. Kayser is one son, Allan Kayser of Waterloo, Ia., one daughter, Mrs. Garfield (Shirley) Freeburg, of Eau Claire, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Hazel Beckert, Chilton.

The Kaysers were members of the United Methodist Church in Granton. That same church served as the funeral site, July 7, with the Rev. William Noble officiating. Burial was in the Windfall Cemetery, Granton, and the Gilbertson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers were Chris and Jeff Kayser, Jesse and Marvin Richmond, David Garbisch and Gerald Paulson.
