Marie Stewart, 56, died suddenly on Monday, February 5, 1973 while at work at Wausau.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 9, 1973 at St. Bernard Church at ten a.m. Burial will be made in the parish cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Thorp Funeral Home beginning at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. The Rosary will be recited at 8:00 pm. Thursday evening.

Stewart, Marie (11 Apr 1916 – 5 Feb 1973)

Mrs. Arthur Stewart, 56, 701 South 22nd Avenue, Wausau, Wisconsin, died suddenly Monday, February 5, 1973 at 3:15 p.m. whole at work at Happy’s Café.

Funeral services were held Friday, February 9 at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Thorp, with Father Will Grelle officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Cyril Alger, Ed Alger, Harland Schultz, Pat Soderberg, Eugene Wilhelm and Wilfred Vanderhyden.

The former Marie B. Schmidt was born April 11, 1916 in Thorp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George J. Schmidt. On November 22, 1938 she was united in marriage to Arthur Stewart, also of Thorp, where they resided until moving to Wausau in 1967.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur; two daughters, Mrs. Aaron (Bonnie) Dix, Columbia, Missouri; Mrs. William (Judy) Sweda, Colby, Wisconsin; a sister, Mrs. Frank Neary of Chippewa Falls, and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
