Kubera, Andrew & Myrtle (Gold – 3 Feb 1973)

The date f April 14, 1973 was observed by two Kubera families, Andrew and Myrtle of Thorp, who celebrated their 50th, and Alvin and Marjorie of Black River Falls, who celebrated their 25th. The dates of their anniversaries were February 3rd and April 4th, respectively.

The children of both sets of parents feted them with a 7 p.m. buffet dinner at the Thorp Legion Hall, which was beautifully decorated for the occasion. A huge cake was prepared and presented to Andrew and Myrtle by Darlene Jarocki, and a duplicate cake of 25 years ago to Alvin and Marjorie by their children. Approximately 165 guests, relatives and friends were present to wish the two couples many more years and enjoyed the music of Frank Pakiz and his two friends of Greenwood. They received many beautiful gifts and monetary remembrances.

Myrtle wore a gown of gold with a corsage of yellow tea roses, and Marjorie wore a gown of silver lame’ with a duplicate orchid from 25 years ago.

The family children of Andrew and Myrtle present for the occasion to make it a memorable affair were: Alvin, Black River Falls, Ruby Conncial, Waukesha, Marjorie Peleschak, Thorp, Wendel, Thorp, Lorraine Sitter, Neillsville, Darlene Jarocki, Withee, Florence Mahalke, Alabama, Joyce Markoutsis, Waukegan, Mary Ellen Kell, Withee, Harry, Thorp, Judy Staniec, Thorp, and Sharon Gilbert, Thorp. Those unable to attend were Arlyn, Kansasville, Bonnie Time, Duluth, and Marlene Baker from Kansas.

Alvin and Marjorie’s four children were present: jack Korn, Chippewa Falls, Kathy Anderson, Marshfield, Merry Gaye Berdal, Frederic, and Roger, Thorp.

Among the reunion of the Kubera family, were two sets of four generations, Andrew, Alvin, Roger and his son, Steven. On the female side was Myrtle, Marjorie, Peleschak, Gail Schmitt and her daughter, Deanna.

The union of Andrew and Myrtle in Thorp fifty years ago brought into this world 19 children, of which 18 were raised in the area. These 18 children produced 52 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Alvin and Marjorie had 4 children and are the proud grandparents of 7 grandchildren.
